Book deals for the weekend of April 18

I can’t believe we’ve been home for over a week (and I still wake up at 6am every morning). In case you missed it, here’s my post about our France itinerary.

I’ve been reading up a storm this past week since we got home in preparation for the Summer Reading Guide and I’m hoping to spend lots of time reading this weekend!

Here are some of my favorite book deals going on right now:

Emma m lion audioEmma m lion audio

The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion (Vol. 1 – Vol. 5) by Beth Brower – audiobook – $2.99
I can’t believe the first 5 books are on sale for less than $3! If you’ve been around for a while, you know I love this series! I had read the entire series twice before it came out on audio and was so excited to try the audio version – just wait until you hear all the narrator’s voices! And if you’ve had a hard time getting started with physical books, I tell you that the audiobook is really helpful.

DivergentDivergent

Divergent by Veronica Roth – audiobook – $4.99
This dystopian novel topped all the charts when it was released ten years ago and is still a fun read and listen for adults and teens!

born from a crime audiobookborn from a crime audiobook

Born a Crime by Trevor Noah – audiobook – $5.99
This sonic original is a must-have to add to your list. You may have seen Trevor Noah on The Daily Show, but his life started out as a crime. He was the son of a multiracial marriage which, during apartheid South Africa, was illegal. This witty and honest memoir is the perfect book to add to any book club and it’s one of those books that everyone mentions when talking about books that are 100 times better thanks to the audio version (naturally, it’s read by the author).

FakeFake

Forgery by Neal Schusterman – audiobook – $5.99
When I asked my Instagram community for their favorite books for teens, this was by far the most popular! I think this one has such an interesting premise. Set in a future world where death has been conquered, people called Scythians are the only ones allowed to end lives in order to maintain population control. I haven’t read this one but it’s been on my list for ages!

Elantris by Brandon Sanderson – audiobook – $5.99
I have HUGE Brandon Sanderson fans in my house (my husband and daughters). This is his first novel and it has everything you would want from a Brandon Sanderson book: strong heroes/heroines, high fantasy and magic, and a stunningly designed world that comes to life as you read.

Harvest Sunrise by Suzanne Collins – audiobook – $6.99
I didn’t really know what to expect next. The Ballad of Songbirds and Serpents (which I didn’t manage to get over), but this Haymitch prequel completely hooked me and reminded me of the hold the original trilogy had on me! Set during the 50th Hunger Games, this is the story of Haymitch as a contestant in the Hunger Games 24 years before Katniss volunteered as a tribute. This one is INTENSE and the audio made me feel like I was watching a movie. My 15 year old son loved it too.

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith – ebook – $0.99
This was one I’d been meaning to read for years and didn’t get around to until it was the only audiobook I had as I drove hours and hours each week to my elementary school libraries in Boston. And I completely understood the hype. (Full review here).

PakarPBN

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.

In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
