Hello Monday – PlayWorkeatreat

Hello friends, and welcome to a summary of our sunny spring weekend. I’m so happy that you have stopped!

SATURDAY

It was Father’s Day last Sunday, but we couldn’t celebrate at the time. So, this weekend, we had a late meeting of Father’s Day. Our eldest son Luke came, and it was nice to have lunch and catch up. We do not see it as much as we would like, with work for us, the study for Sam, our youngest and the trip from 40 to 50 minutes that you need to come.

Anyway, it was so good to see it and hear everything that happens in the world. I have already mentioned that I avoid the news at all costs. Of course, things end up listening to me, and I discover what’s going on. But above all, I am more than happy not to know too much because it gives me so much anxiety.

Luke is our guy in facts, and I don’t mind hearing what he has to share. He has a way to explain things so clearly, and now all my fears are perfectly justified. Yikes!

We spent the afternoon talking and eating. For lunch, Steve made a slow roasted lamb. Yes, now he cooks even for his own celebrations! 😂

For dessert, we had princess cakes that we had in the freezer of one of our trips to Ikea. I’m so happy that they have brought these cakes after being MIA for three or four years.

Sunday

Sunday was like THE Perfect spring day. With all the rain that we have had in recent weeks, the floor of our front garden was pleasant and loose, then Steve was able to remove the old lavender bush. It was charming when it flowered once a year, but most of the time it was wooded and weeds.

So I made a trip to Bunnings to collect colorful flowers to plant in its place, and when I arrived, it was so busy, lots of gardeners inspired by spring.

I also bought mixtures and lava cress seeds of the seeds because I have an idea for the preschool craft this week. We are going to do grass heads! I set up this photo on Canva so that children know what I am talking about when I explain to them.

This should be a fun activity that is perfectly linked to spring learning and the life cycle of plants. Hopefully Miss Ruth, the non-Gardener, can withdraw it. Fingers crossed!

Back to my plantation afternoon. This time, before leaving to buy random plants, I did a little research and picked up the petunias, the altas and the allyssum. According to Google, I even discovered how to plant them, how far to space them out and what should go back, in the middle and at the front.

Sunny spring weekend

Now I just have to take care of them. Good practice before doing the lawn with preschool children.

And because I was sad to see our lavender bush leave, I ended up buying a lavender plant. This time, I will keep it in a pot.

Sunny spring weekend

I also bought a jasmine plant. How long do I wonder I have to wait for the fragrant flowers to grow?

Sunny spring weekend

And it was my hot and sunny spring weekend. I know that the best is yet to come, with many more sunny days to come. I am so excited for the summer. In other words, until I meet the first giant cockroach of the season and I start to think that winter may not be so bad after all. No coarse bugs in winter!

Happy Monday!
